Weymouth - Brunswick Terrace

circa 1925

The Cenotaph has been erected.

The boat hire sites are ready for the first customers of the day, although from the state of the Sea not many will want to risk it.

When I worked a couple of seasons for Tony Bugler we would direct those using boats or canoes to ensure they sailed out into the prevailing wind to ensure they had the wind at the stern to ensure a safe and easy return.

However human nature being what it is there were always those who chose to ignore the advice, resulting in somebody, inevitably having to row out to tow them back when they became tired from struggling against the wind.

No Whisky Bravo in those days!!
