Weymouth - Victoria Terrace

This photo shows Victoria Terrace at its finest.
The sender has marked the card with 'x'. The building it indicates is The Burdon Hotel(now The Prince Regent).

He tells the lady to whom it is addressed that this is where some of the New Zealand wounded are receiving treatment, the hotel was in use as a convalescent hospital for some of the many Anzac troops who came to Weymouth after the didaster tht was the Gallipolli campaign.

Appropriately there is now a beautiful Portland Stone memorial to these gallant men opposite the hotel and alongside the Town's Cenotaph.

The building on the left of the terrace with the porticoed entrance and canopy at the first floor was at one time the Y.W.C.A. I have a card sent by a one time guest who tells a friend there are 40 guests in the building.
