Weymouth - Aerial View looking South
circa 1950

This is a wonderful view of weymouth from the late 1940s or early 1950s, there is an absolute wealth of detail.
The Station, Goods Yards and sidings are seen in detail. Ranelagh road clearly visible with the houses of the Park district.
The sidings are now occupied by a 'Retail Park'
which appears to be the clone of so many similar sites!
The Backwater and railway viaduct are seen before the infill took place.

In the distance Portland and its Harbour with the Royal navy present in strength.
