 Searchlight Display

Until I came across this card I had forgotten these displays so much member a feature of the Summer Evenings of my childhood.

The Searchlights were located on the Nothe, around Portland Harbour Breakwater and aboard Naval Vessels in Portland Harbour.

I can recall their sweeping movements, strange how these lights which were originally meant to protect went on to provide entertainment.
