It is May 1912 and the Henry Farman Waterplane, part of the Daily Mail waterplane circuit, has arrived in Town. Flights in the 70 horsepower plane were offered to one person at a time.Those fortunate enough were ferried to the plane from the shore where considerable crowds gathered to watch what must have been spectacular take-offs and landings. Boarding appears to have been a precarious business given the position of the platform.
